About
Get ready to be surrounded by bald eagles, mountainous volcanoes, and secluded ocean bluffs. Cruise across glistening shallow streams, and see several waterfalls. The 120 mile long Cook Inlet Coastline is home to a variety of migratory shorebirds, sea otters, seals, porpoises, and whales. Have we mentioned all of the eagles? We believe this Deep Creek / Cape Ninilchik area is the best place for photographing eagles on the entire peninsula! Most days we see as many as 100 hundred along the way! Don’t forget to bring your best camera for taking unreal beautiful ocean photos!
I’m Sabrina Bishop, and I’ll be your host with Ring of Fire Project, an eco-tour company, offering enclosed guided beach tours. I offer full immersion into Nature as an exclusive 4-hour guided excursion on the Southern Kenai Peninsula beaches along the Cook Inlet ocean waters.
What makes it a project
The portion of this “project” that makes it all worthwhile is to bring you closer to nature and nature closer to you while engaging a palpable sense of connection with our natural environment, tours, and possibly artwork. Cultivating an extended sense of community is where it’s all at in these times. We hope you’ll join us!
I value the experience of being in nature. Living in a boundless, rarely touched part of the world here in Alaska, I am surrounded by the abundance of nature in its purest forms. Here, we are very fortunate to have some control over the impact of living in a modern world. Part of what we do with Ring of Fire Project is collect trash along the beach when we see it as a way to preserve beauty and protect local sealife. There is hardly any debris, and we want to keep it that way. Water bottles and plastic can sometimes appear after storms, having traveled sometimes great distances across the Bering Sea Straights. Plastics and an occasional tire are typical targets for beach clean-up. We have noticed the benefits of our efforts as well as the efforts of other local Alaskans who love this stretch of beach. As the guest, you are not obligated to pick up plastic, but we find most people are delighted to help!
Lastly, please allow me to explain that I view life as a bit of a project. Throughout our lives we make plans, move forward, sometimes change directions, heal, and learn what works for each of us as individuals. Starting this business signifies a major turning point in my own life. I sincerely love being in nature, so this “project” allows me the opportunity to live true to my values, which are an undercurrent throughout the tour. Ring of Fire Project is a platform where I can offer my skills, knowledge, and perhaps wisdom. To sum it up, the project is one of living my life’s true purpose.
Proud of being a 20+ year Alaskan resident, I have a range of experiences. My love of rocks and nature is 100% my motivation for hosting Ring of Fire Project. Yoga is the backbone of my efforts. I practice nature art and lapidary, the art of tumbling, cutting, and polishing rocks. I sell my artwork primarily at local festivals and events. I am lovingly supported by my wonderful husband and 2 dogs. We spend our free-time.. outdoors!
For those who wish to deepen their journey even more, I am a certified Yoga Instructor, Reiki Practitioner, Meditation Guide, and Gemstone Therapist, a form of complementary medicine based on my 22 yrs. of practicing “The Ancient Art of Laying on Stones” after completing 4 yrs. of college accredited courses in Carrbridge, Scotland.
